About Stump Grinding
A stump left in the ground after tree removal is far more than an eyesore. Over time, stumps become active hazards, pest attractants, and obstacles that limit how you use your property. Understanding why professional stump removal matters helps you make the right decision for your landscape.
Rotting stumps attract carpenter ants, termites, beetles, and other wood-boring insects that can spread to healthy trees and even to the wood structures of your home. The decaying root system can also harbor fungal diseases such as Armillaria root rot, which can spread through root grafts to adjacent healthy trees.
From a practical standpoint, stumps make lawn mowing hazardous and can cause serious ankle injuries to children and guests. They prevent replanting, interfere with hardscape projects, and significantly reduce your property's curb appeal and value. Professional stump grinding eliminates all of these problems in a single visit.
Removes the primary habitat for termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles before they spread.
Eliminates the decaying wood that hosts Armillaria and other root rot fungi harmful to surrounding trees.
Clear stumps dramatically improve curb appeal and allow full use of your outdoor living space.
Properly ground stumps allow you to plant grass, flowers, or a new tree in the same location.

Testimonials
Real feedback from clients across Barnhart, MO
We had seven stumps ranging from small ornamentals to a massive 40-inch oak stump, all from a tree removal the previous year. Christian Tree Service ground all seven in a single morning visit. The largest stump took about 45 minutes alone. The crew was efficient, professional, and left the yard completely clean. Fantastic service.
The stump in our front yard was not only ugly but was causing the sidewalk to heave. Christian Tree Service ground it deep enough for our concrete contractor to pour a flush replacement section. Problem solved completely. We have already referred two neighbors to them.
Hired them to grind 12 stumps left after a land clearing project on our property. They brought a commercial-size grinder and had every stump done in under four hours. Cleaned up afterward and the site was ready for our landscaper the same afternoon. Very professional operation.
